Privacy Policy

1. Summary

Ante Social keeps your journal, writing and reading data on your device. We do not use analytics, ads, cookies or tracking pixels. Our server only receives what is listed in sections 3 to 5.

2. Data stored on your device

The app stores the following in your browser (IndexedDB and localStorage). None of it is sent to us:

• Journal entries: dates, titles, content, tags and moods
• Writing projects: titles, content, types and status
• Reading list, focus items and collections
• Preferences: theme, font size, and whether you turned on the "what's new" note
• Downloaded content packs: lessons, prompts and reading lists

3. Automatic error reports

When the app hits an unexpected error, it sends a short report to our server at api.antesocial.space so we can fix the bug. A report contains:

• the error message and stack trace
• the page address, with query strings, fragments and entry IDs removed
• the time of the error

Reports never include your journal or writing content on purpose. An error message could quote a small piece of text if the error itself contains it. Our server does not record your IP address or browser details with these reports. It uses your IP address in memory for rate limiting only.

4. Feedback form

If you use the feedback form, we receive only the text you type and the time you sent it. There is no reply address, so please don't include personal details.

5. Content downloads and update checks

When you download a content pack or check for updates, your browser requests files from api.antesocial.space. Those requests carry the usual information any web request does, such as your IP address. We don't use them to identify or track you.

6. Service providers

• Vercel hosts the website (antesocial.space).
• Railway hosts the API (api.antesocial.space), which serves content packs and receives error reports and feedback.

Like most hosts, these providers keep standard request logs, which can include IP addresses, under their own privacy policies.

7. Cloud backup

There is no cloud backup or sync today. If we add one, it will be optional, and we will update this policy before it launches.

8. Export and deletion

• Export: export your data at any time from Settings (JSON, PDF, Markdown or a full backup ZIP).
• Delete: delete individual items in the app, or clear this site's data in your browser settings to remove everything.
• No account: there is no account, so there is nothing else to close.

9. Children

We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. The app works without an account or any personal details.

10. Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, we update the date at the top of this page and note it in the changelog.
